Meet Captain Bobby Walker

Hi! I’m Captain Bobby Walker, Captain of SUMMER BREEZE II. I am a third generation charter boat captain from Orange Beach, AL. located on the Florida/Alabama state line. In the 1930’s, my grandfather, Rufus Walker, Sr. and his family were pioneers of charter boat fishing in Orange Beach. In the late 1950’s, my father, Captain Bob Walker and family were active in getting the first Alabama artificial reef program approved. As a child, I was fortunate to see the first barge of artificial reef materials as it was deployed off the coast of Alabama. Alabama now has the largest artificial reef zone on the Gulf Coast which provides vital habitat for a number of fish species including Red Snapper.

I began my career as a charter boat captain aboard the THELMA ANN, a six passenger boat inherited from my father. In 1983, I had the SUMMER BREEZE built, one of the first multi passenger boats to offer off-shore big game fishing in Orange Beach. In 1994, I had SUMMER BREEZE II built continuing the tradition of operating the finest charter fishing boats on the Gulf Coast. As you can see, I have been fishing the Gulf of Mexico all my life. My crew and I are dedicated to making every fishing charter a lifetime memory for each individual who boards the SUMMER BREEZE II, so “Come Aboard and let’s go catch ‘ol big.”
